  4. DriveMan Manual Installation Instructions
  5. -----------------------------------------

  7. If you cannot install DriveMan with the supplied "Setup" module, please use
  8. the following procedure to do so:
  9.  
  10. 1) Create a folder where you want to install DriveMan.
  11.  
  12. 2) Extract DRVMANxx.ZIP to the newly created folder.  Do not use the contents
  13.    of the folder from your failed installation attempt.  The files in that
  14.    folder can no longer be used (and should be deleted).

  16. 3) For each file that has an underscore ("_") as the last character of the
  17.    extension, change the underscore to one of the following values:
  18.  
  19.    ex_ = exe
  20.    hl_ = hlp
  21.    tx_ = txt
  22.    dl_ = dll
  23.  
  24. 4) Move (not copy) CTL3D32.DLL to your system folder, which is usually named
  25.    "c:\Windows\System".
  26.  
  27.    If there is an existing copy of "CTL3D32.DLL" in your Windows folder,
  28.    which is usually named "c:\Windows", rename it to "CTL3D32.BAK".  You
  29.    must have only one copy of this file on your system, and it must reside
  30.    in your system folder.

  32. 5) DriveMan is now installed on your computer.  This method of installation
  33.    does not allow you to automatically uninstall DriveMan, but you could do
  34.    so manually by erasing the DriveMan folder that you created in the first
  35.    step.

  37.    NOTE:  You should never remove CTL3D32.DLL.  It can be used by other
  38.           applications, and removing it may cause them to cease functioning.
  39.           The version of CTL3D32.DLL is the most recently released version
  40.           that will work with Windows 95.  There is a newer version (2.26)
  41.           which will *only* work with WindowsNT.
